Nuwave Display hired their very first apprentice this year! 16 year old Niall Stott started working at Nuwave Display just after finishing school and will be starting his Design & Print Apprenticeship in January which he is very much looking forward to.
Upon first joining us Niall was quite shy, but the school leaver has since come out of his shell, and is getting on really well with everybody, learning lots and helping out in the print room and on the production floor to create our many portable display items. He says "the people are great and I like it when we all have bacon sandwiches together".
Another new starter with the company is Sarah, who has a background predominantly in teaching and design but overall just enjoys making things. Sarah is delighted in the fact that she has had the opportunity to run a product through the design stage, printing, heat pressing, sewing, packing, and all the way through to booking the courier collections. No mean feat!!
Every day is different in the production department and there really is a wide variety of skills required. With hundreds of
custom-made flags and banners flying out of the door, quite literally every day, an eye for detail is essential as we want everything to be perfect before they are whisked off to our customers.
Here at Nuwave Display we pride ourselves on delivering high quality products that are made to last. In his spare time Niall enjoys going to watch Sunderland FC play with his Granddad, so he was really pleased when we recently made some bespoke hand-waving flags in memory of
Bradley Lowery who was also an avid Sunderland supporter. Niall also likes going to the cinema with his mates, playing video games and walking his cute dog, Murphy.
When asked, if there was anything that he didn't like about working life, Niall jokingly responded "I don't like it when we run out of sweets". Something that Sarah wholeheartedly agreed with!
